Thank God It’s Monday! #mysteries #writing #crimefiction

Today’s TGIM kick-off-the-week quote comes from John Lutz, writing in Writing Mysteries from Mystery Writers of America:

“Beginning a work of fiction without having at least some idea as to the ending is something like jumping into your car and driving away without any idea as to your destination. It’s true you might arrive someplace interesting, but you’re sure to meander getting there and spend time driving through plenty of not-so-interesting places. And meandering, digressing, is fatal to good fiction.”
